Historical note

The Alpha Nu Omega Fraternity originated with an idea brought to light at a party at 1435 Alberta Street on October 15, 1968. A series of informal meetings took place and it was decided to formally apply for recognition of the Inter-Fraternity Council, the governing body of the Greek System at UD.

After a few organizing meetings, officers were informally appointed. They were as follows: Michael Collins as President, Victor Bako as Vice President, Frank Stama as Secretary, and Richard Shea as Treasurer. The officers of Alpha Nu Omega officially applied for a seat in the I.F.C on January 23, 1969. On February 13, 1969 the fraternity was welcomed into the I.F. C as an associate member on a probationary status for one and a half years.

Alpha Nu Omega’s motto is “Service for Brothers” and their colors are crimson and gold.
